The Au Co Cruises The Au Co, Ha Long Bay
One of the prettiest ships in Halong, the steel-hulled Au Co offers smooth sailing through Halong and Lan Ha bays.

Things kick off with a morning flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Cat Bi, followed by a 1.5-hour drive to Ha Long Bay where our ship – the Au Co – awaits. Halong Bay covers nearly 1900 islets of different size, some very large such as Thien Cung Cave or Surprise Cave, others as small as a few meters wide. One important note is to wear conservative clothes (pants/long dresses and long-sleeved shirts) when visiting religious or cultural sites.

Transportation – Accommodation

Often, private transportation and accommodation would be more favorable.

Here we can relax on the secluded beach, or take in the stunning views while kayaking in the jade-colored water.

Back on the main vessel we can soak up the sun, settle into a massage, or enjoy happy hour at the bar. Retrace the steps of colonial-era explorers in vintage style aboard this 32-cabin ship, visiting hidden beaches, forested islands, and gorgeous sea lakes.

In early 2020, the Au Co ship received a comprehensive renovation, lending a beautiful contemporary feel to the ancient Vietnamese legend on which the ships are inspired.

Connectivity:
Our hotel has Wi-Fi access, however our boat in Ha Long Bay will only have Wi-Fi in the restaurant area. Our signature dishes fuse the best of Vietnamese and Western flavors and cooking techniques for a delightfully unexpected culinary journey featuring locally caught seafood, imported meats, and seasonally fresh produce.

Updated cabins feature a modern Asian flair, subtly incorporating design elements telling the love story of Princess Au Co and her Dragon Lord of the Sea.

Travel further where few ships go on our 3D/2N itinerary, taking in the natural beauty of both Halong and Lan Ha Bays. Each room has a flat-screen TV and comes with free Wi-Fi.

Gay Hanoi

While Vietnam's record on LGBTQ rights has room for progress, the capital city of Hanoi hosts a small but lively gay scene perfect for queer travelers. And though same-sex PDA remains relatively taboo across conservative Vietnam, many of Hanoi's nightlife establishments magically transform into gay sanctuaries once the sun sets.

From cabaret theater performances to pulsating dance clubs, LGBTQ visitors from across the globe join Hanoi's local queer community to freely express themselves amid vibrant lights and basslines.
