“The Vibe Shift Is Real” – People Can’t Believe ‘SNL’ Actually Did This Sketch Mocking Gay Men Buying A Baby

Is SNL trying to win back the right?

Aside from being painfully unfunny these days, the long-running sketch comedy show has leaned pretty hard to the left in recent years, turning off many of their viewers on the right.

I mean, remember when they opened their first show after the 2016 election with Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton performing “Hallelujah” like it was some kind of funeral for America?

“At this rate I might watch SNL again,” Kirk said. The unexpected reaction reveals a shift in cultural dynamics, where traditional liberal platforms now face backlash from their core audiences when crossing certain ideological lines.

“SNL,” long a staple of progressive entertainment, may have inadvertently exposed a deeper cultural discomfort with the commodification of children through surrogacy and the erosion of traditional family structures.

After all, two men can’t make a baby, especially in the time between when they went out to a rave called “Bulge Dungeon” and showed up at brunch the next morning.

Hamm and Yang feign indignation at being asked such invasive questions. When questioned about who the mother of the child is, they debate whether Yang — an emotional lover of shopping — or Hamm — a long-haired alcoholic — is the real mum, then decide they both are.

Some viewers accused the sketch of promoting “regressive” stereotypes and undermining LGBT representation.

'The culture is shifting. But a sketch mocking the idea of a gay couple showing up with a baby and acting like they gave birth to it NEVER would have aired on SNL just a couple of years ago…and probably wouldn’t have aired had Kamala Harris won the 2024 election.

The clip of the sketch began making its rounds on social media, with conservatives praising the show for finally going there with something that was previously off limits to the liberal left.

what are you doing. It’s not about punching down; it’s about refusing to tiptoe forever.

Either way, there’s one slogan many Americans can agree on: make comedy funny again.

"Snl gay dad with baby sketch is awful. One friend quips, “You guys said that after dinner you were going to a rave called ‘Bulge Dungeon’—and now today you have a baby?”

Left-wing outrage erupted online almost immediately.

The general consensus seems to be that “wokeism” has gone too far, and we’ve spent too much time focusing on pronouns and safe spaces and ignored real concerns that average Americans have.

And it seems like many viewers think that cultural shift was on display on SNL over the weekend when they ran a skit featuring two straight couples questioning a gay couple about where (and how) they got their baby.

In the sketch, Bowen Yang and guest host Jon Hamm play a gay couple who show up with a new baby, despite not having one the night before.

putting us back years," replied one account with pronouns in its profile. I hope this keeps up.

"Oh my gosh.

Video of the sketch on the show's account went viral with millions of views.

The April 12th sketch poked fun at modern parenting, surrogacy, and the purchasing of children by same-sex couples, drawing sharp criticism from LGBT activists and progressive commentators.

In the skit, Hamm and Yang’s characters bring a baby to a dinner party unannounced, leaving friends confused about how the couple acquired the child. Or…well, pretty much any of their political sketches over the past decade mocking conservatives and MAGA supporters?

And to be clear, the problem isn’t that they mock Donald Trump or conservatives.

But perhaps the cultural pendulum is finally swinging back — not toward cruelty or mockery for mockery’s sake, but toward something more free.
